Not the basketball kind, unfortunately (but speaking of that — GO STORM!).

A week ago, I finally managed to drag myself out of my room and walk around the neighborhood. My supposed trip to Yodobashi to check out a cheap lens was in vain but I managed to snap these photos with my trusty 50mm f1.8 and my new-old D80.

Bored. Can’t sleep. So I took an old photo (July 2008)
and just randomly adjusted some settings in Photoshop.

During the recent Golden Week while Toio was here, we found ourselves dragging our butts to Harajuku. Apparently everyone else thought the same thing. And so we found ourselves stuck between people even before we got out of the Harajuku station. Here’s a shot of the throng just after we squeezed ourselves out:

People change.

Some of them mature over time, some grow more childish.

Some reorder their priorities, others get a brand new set.

Some people grow stronger, others get weaker as time passes by.

Some people get harder and more jaded, but there are those who finally get their chance to feel.

People change.

Some of them may be towards one direction, while others trudge towards another.

But still, people change.

And so do I.

—————————–

Took me this long to realize that I did change. I no longer get panicked over basketball news. I missed the Final Four — heck, even the Final Game. UConn won, btw. Geno won awards. Maya Moore swept this year’s POY awards. Tina Charles brought it on big time during the whole NCAA Tourney. I just knew all that from reading the recaps and not by listening to the game (which I did all the time these past few years). Sadly, I wasn’t that mad about March Madness anymore.

The Storm drafted Cal’s Ashley Walker. If she’s Camille Little 2.0, then I’m all up for it. The Storm needs a heck lot of front court talent IF LJ doesn’t sign with us and goes over to Phoenix instead. But anyway, I ain’t losing sleep over that. I’m not even that much excited about the opening in May. :p Let’s just wait and see what’ll happen once the season is underway, though. I might get my enthusiasm back.

Day 262 : Weeeeeee!

It’s finally snowboarding season. Enjoyed the trip to Ishiuchimaruyama in Niigata-ken. I can’t wait for the next one.

At dahil diyan, me sa re-post ako ng past kwento from one of the snobo trips last year:

“Istoryang Tebukuro”

My 2008 in Photographs

Well, seeing that I got myself into this very expensive hobby this year, I might as well chronicle 2008 with, well, photos.

where's my deluminator?

I was very very excited to finally start 2008 (if you must know, my 2007 was pure hell) that I got myself dragged to far far away Sea Paradise to watch the *meh* fireworks and get my ass frozen. We got stuck at Higashi-Kanagawa (for n loooooong hours) waiting for the first train. It was less than five degrees celsius. I am never going to do that again. Ever.

So anyhoo, let’s go take a look at what happened to my year ^_^ (warning, very long post ahead).

It'll Come

I say love will come to you
hoping just because I spoke the words that they’re true
as if I offered up a crystal ball to look through
where there’s now one there will be two.

Love Will Come To You

For all my friends who are currently nyor-nyor-ing about life, love (and the lack of it), being alone, and other shit like that. It’s just S.A.D. It’ll pass, guys, it’ll pass.

Reds and Yellows

My sorrow, when she’s here with me,
Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
Are beautiful as days can be;
She loves the bare, the withered tree;
She walks the sodden pasture lane.
Robert Frost
My November Guest

Last Saturday we trudged over to Tachikawa City to roam around the Showa Park. The colors were awesome. It was one of the best photo-sessions in my short lifespan as a pseudo-picture-taker. I dunno if it was because the reds and yellows and oranges were so vivid or maybe because I was just in the right mood. Either way, it was fun, fun, fun. Also, spending the day with awesome friends didn’t hurt. A big shout-out to Guia, Jac, Mayen, Vanush, Sheen, Meemers, and Moogs for such a great day.

「Kyomizudera、EMonk by kilcher

Kyomizudera (Pure Water Temple) is built into the side of Otowayama mountain on the east side of Kyoto, Japan. The original temple dates back to 780 AD and remains associated with Nara/Hosso Buddhism, the oldest sect within Japanese Buddhism. It was built without the use of nails. The people who built Kyomizudera understood. When you walk along its wooden promenade, look out over the chasm and see the mountains and trees above and the whole city of Kyoto laid out beneath your feet, you can have only one thought: This is why we build temples. You are surrounded by a sea of wooden gates, stone guardians, lanterns, pagodas and stairs that just keep going up. Then, suddenly, Kyomizudera. A temple so large you can’t even see it. Because it’s built into the mountainside, supported by 139 pillars, and all you can do is stand inside and look out. [Source]
