ganito

Gosh, I really really really need to start sometime soon.

1201503535.jpgThe No.1 ranked Huskies let No. 16 Notre Dame hang around the first few minutes of the game and make defensive gimmicks on Maya Moore before UConn’s other weapons were used. Moore scored the first 15 points — 4 for 4 beyond the arc with a 4-point play thrown in (ah, the abundance of my favorite number). The Fighting Irish adjusted their defense and Maya didn’t score after that.

Enter Tina Charles who showed she can dominate with 22 monster points and 8 boards. Later in the game, Renee Montgomery came alive until the 12-minute mark and scored the first of her 12 second-half (and game) points, including the dagger three that snuffed any hope for the Fighting Irish.

But Ketia Swanier trumped everyone else as she kept the offense going and she glued the Huskies together with 11 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals in 32 minutes of play.

UConn won the game 81-64 and is now 19-0 over-all (6-0 Big East).

Between the snowboard thing yesterday and finally buying Noodles this morning, I think I’m getting a little too overwhelmed with all the things that I’m planning to do. Add to that the recent blog hikkoshi* and now I’m more pressured to write sensible stuff all the time. I’m thinking of too many projects and I now feel like I won’t even get to start, much less finish them. Gah, suddenly it feels like an avalanche is just waiting to happen.

Some of these projects include:

1. Project Kamay — Hand photography. I have several shots listed but I still have to find other hands. And inspiration — yes, I super need a giant shining shimmering splendid source of inspiration.

2. Project Emotikon — Emotive poses and expressions. Again, I still haven’t found another person who can emote (!) as much as I can so pit stop muna tayo dito. I have two sets done. They’re in my multiply site.

3. Project Tagalog — I can’t even write anymore, much less produce something in Tagalog. I have started this project with a few choice pieces. And there are also some works that I’m a little apprehensive to show to the madlang pipol.

4. Project Luna — I’m not sure if I can do this soon.

5. The Checkered Sahara — Re-decorating my Sahara-like (in temperature) room with black and white checkered pattern as the main motif. Good God! I found the drapes at Donki in Ginza! Halleluiah! Next up: that structure where I can hang my oh so many jackets. Guguho na ang aking curtain rods!

6. Learn some more guitar thing and try to memorize chords and whatnots this time. Try not to use the memory gap as an excuse.

I really need to finish this because I can’t stop thinking about this novel even if I’m not even reading it the past couple of days.

8. Stay updated with UConn.

9. Keep up with Seattle Storm news and get myself ready for the May 2008 season of the WNBA. Oo kailangan ng matinding preps ito.

*Le Sigh*

Too many things to do, too little time, too short an attention span.

I think I need to slam on the breaks and just breathe for a while …, you know, stop for a while and recharge and clear these cobwebs outta my mind. Maybe then, maybe I’ll find a reason to do all the things that I loved to do in the past — if you can already call last week the past. So yeah. Maybe I’m just really tired after all.

Semplang galore to the nth level, oh so many subsob head-first moments na hindi ko na talaga nabilang sa sobrang dami.

The rest of the photos for this trip can be found in my multiply.

Arlan: Ang sakit ng pwet ko. Ish pamasahe naman.

The rest of the snowman series can be found here.

Well, I came from a tropical country where the climate alternates between super-hot and irritatingly wet so I was really mesmerized by the whole Spring-Summer-Autumn-Winter thing. Well, summer — not so much. Lagi naman summer sa ‘Pinas. Plus I missed the recent summer here because I was cooped up inside the Jikei University Hospital [Private Gallery: Jikei Daisan Byouin Experience].

Anyway, SNOW! Haha. It’s just plain aesthetics, man. But it’s sort of magical to watch those white fluffy things fall down from the sky. Hay, I have nothing more to say. I’ve seen it. Moment over. Let’s get on with our merry lives.

Here are links to my first season cycle:

1. Spring – sakura (cherry blossoms) in full bloom for a week.
2. Summer – no pics argh.
3. Autumn – yellow leaves along Kotta river, enjoying the pretty colors at Mount Takao here and here and here.
4. Winter – First snow sighting ever. Took more pictures before all the white powdery goodness turned to slush.

[Project Kamay] Shot #1. Originally uploaded by kilcher

This is the first kamay shot that I’m posting. I’m not yet sure if I’ll include this in the main project. Trial shot lang kasi ito. Practice lang before the big day kung kelan dadating si Noodles the D40.

Project Kamay is something I thought of two or three days ago when I finally gave in to the urge to buy a Nikon D40 (kasalanan mo ito, Tha).

hello world

Hooray!

NO MORE ADS! Boohahahahaha!

Since I still don’t know what to do with this blog (and my life in general), I’ll write this entry as a placeholder for the meantime. I’m still in the process of deciding whether I’ll migrate everything from the old Home Court or not. ETA: Hmmm, I don’t think I’ll transfer everything here. Super-kalat dun eh. I guess I’ll just sift through the clutter and find the kapakipakinabang posts. Argh. Hassle na naman!

But before everything else, lemme just give a shout-out to RAMIL for successfully BI~ing me in buying a domain and for the hosting space. Another shout-out goes to KAY-E for funding my kababawan (memorized ko na card number mo *evillaugh*). Doumow Arigatouw Gosaimasuow to the both of ya.

Ja, eto na lang muna.

basketball, maya moore, uconn huskies

Last night I finally had the chance to peek over at UConnPhil’s videos. I was watching the highlights from recent UConn games and I finally got to see what the fuss over Maya Moore is all about. She literally defies awesome, man. The moves, the jumpshots, the rebounds, the whatever-else’s — all smooth and beautiful. Auriemma did a very good job in snagging her — despite the whole recruitment thing being enmeshed in that messy hullabaloo with Tennessee.

Anyway, Atlanta JC wrote about their favorite Georgia daughter Moore in this article. Maya Moore is definitely better than advertised.

The two-time national player of the year at Collins Hill is all New England’s now. A new Mayan culture is springing up around the 6-foot bundle of smooth. Granted, these people up here sure do talk funny, and they live part time in a meat locker, but they also take their women’s basketball seriously. It is a terrific place to build a legend, conveniently close to the myth-makers of New York City.

Somehow, Diana Taurasi comes to mind. But what the hell, for all we know she may even be better than Taurasi.
