melancholy

It hasn’t been that long since the temperature around here was in the 30’s and we were sweating non-stop if we even dared go out of the door for more than a minute. Summer was such a pain and really it was one of the worst times of the year for me (Winter sucks too but hey at least we have snowboarding during that season so all’s well for me) that I always wanted the months of June, July, August, and part of September to just go zoom by and be gone already.

Now usually by this time, we (and by that, I mean, I) will be eagerly anticipating the awesome Autumn weather and go crazy with the roaming around everywhere to snap photos of every yellow, red, orange leaves that dare present themselves in my line of sight. It’s supposed to be just around 18°C cold. Well, up to three days ago, it was. But now it’s down to around 8°C~12°C. Dang. What gives, Mother Nature? Did you forget Autumn and decided to just jump straight ahead to Winter? Did you just skip my favorite season this year? Grrr. I hate you.

Fiery Sunrise

Cambodia was probably one of the best places I’ve traveled to. But I’m not really a chronic traveler — matter of fact I always prefer the inside of my room than the brightness of the outside world — so I’m not sure how believable I can be when I say it was really great . Also, I’m not really sure if it was really that great or maybe I was just too tired of seeing beaches and mountains and your run-of-the-mill Shinto shrines that are all abound in my native Pinas (the beaches and the mountains) and here in Japan (shrines, temples, and other thingamajig). Maybe I just found the whole place interesting during that time. But whatever, what matters is in the end, I enjoyed that trip and was really bummed that it ended so shortly.

So, anyway, the following photos are some of my picks in the last shutter-bonanza in Siem Reap. The locations visited were the Tonle Sap Fishing Village, the ever famous Angkor Wat (seriously, everyone who goes to Cambodia must go to Angkor Wat),  the Angkor Thom City that houses my favorite Bayon Temple (the one with the massive stone faces on the towers) and the Terrace of Elephants, Ta Phrom (think Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider), and Banteay Srei that has all those carvings of anything Shiva plastered upon its walls.

It took me more than two months to finally finish this album. Yes, I am that slow and yes, there were many, many shots. Like I said above — shutter-bonanza. Whew. So anyway, here goes:

There’s always that time when I’m trying really hard to remember a certain word but try as I might, I just couldn’t. And then when I ask for help from my friends to help me remember (because hello, memory gap ftw) and even magnanimously give them a letter clue, they just always laugh at me (thanks, guys). But heh, no matter how much I whine about how they always make fun of me when this happens, I guess they do have a point.

The Arcade with lots of O’s

Ish: Nakaka-miss ang high school.
Tinats: SM North and all. Lalo na yung arcade dun sa top floor.
Ish: Oo, oo.
Tinats: Ano na ba tawag dun —
Ish: Hindi ko maalala …
Tinats: Alam ko yan eh, madaming “O” yan sa word na yan …
{Silence}
Tinats: Hahahahahaha, QUANTUM!
{Silence}
Ish: Nasan ang O dun?!

That French Song From Way Back When

Tinats: Ish, alam mo ba yung French song nung college na parating kinakanta ng everyone?
Ish: Ha? Anong French song?
Tinats: Yung — nanananana nananaaaaa nananaaaa?
Ish: Hahaha ano yan?
Tinats: Ewan ko basta merong “F” dun sa name ng artist.
Ish: Ayan ka na naman sa give me a letter na yan.
Tinats: OR sa title nung song, basta may “F” yan, for sure.
Ish: Ewan ko sa yo.
{At Home}
Tinats: Jemu, Jemu, naalala mo ba yung French song nung college na parating kinakanta ng everyone?
Jemu: Ha? Anong French song?
Tinats: Yung — nanananana nananaaaaa nananaaaa? Basta may letter “F” dun somewhere eh.
Jemu: Teka, Google lang katapat niyan.
{Super duper long pause}
Jemu: On Ne S’Aimera Plus Jamais!
Tinats: Uh oh, walang letter “F”. Sinong artist?
Jemus: Larusso.
Tinats: Double uh oh, walang letter “F”.
{The Next Morning}
Ish: O ano — walang “F” no?!
Tinats: OO NA, OLATS NA KO!

Ice Cream For Sure

Ish: Summer na!
Tinats: Ice Cream! As if pwede ako. Stupid throat.
{Pause}
Tinats: Ano yung ice cream shop sa Tachikawa?
Ish: (Naghihintay na ng blooper to)
Tinats: Yung may letter B?
Ish: (Hindi na nagsasuggest)
Tinats: Haagen Dazs?
Ish: Letter B nga eh!
Tinats: Lady Borden?
Ish: Walang store ng Lady Borden!
Tinats: O mali na ko. Teka, hindi letter B. Letter D yung meron!
Ish: Hahahaha … blooper na naman to …
Tinats: Tse. Yabang. Letter D yun. For sure!
Ish: Wala nang naniniwala sa for sure mo.
{Long Pause Until Machida}
Tinats: Frak.
Ish: Mali ka na namaaaaan!
Tinats: Stupid Baskin-Robbins. Tama na yung B eh!
Ish: For sure pala ha.

Raiders Pair Stunts

During the last episode of Hellcats, they debated whether cheerleading (or cheerdancing) is a sport. I’d like to think so, since you really need some athletic strength and skill to be able to do those flips and those jumps and what-have-you’s. Most of those girls (and guys too) are gymnasts even. So yeah, I guess that would be my answer to this question thingamajig.

Day 17  EFavorite Football Team

■ American Football

Waaah, I don’t know anything about American Football but my friend Dodi is all over the New England Patriots so I guess they’re my adopted favorite football team even if I haven’t even watched one game.
