… and surpasses the UCLA men of ’74 for most consecutive wins in college basketball.
From AP @ ESPN article:
“I don’t want my team to compare themselves to anyone,” UConn coach Geno Auriemma said afterward. “I’m not John Wooden and this isn’t UCLA. This is Connecticut and that’s good enough.”
Senior All-Everything Maya Moore dropped a career-high 41 points and snagged 10 boards for the historic win. Frosh Bria Hartley wrecked the Seminoles with her 21 points on 8 of 9 shooting (including 5 of 5 from 3pt range). This kid is someone to watch out for.

It’s been ages since I wrote something about basketball. Let’s blame that on work and other stuff that had been plaguing my attention. I’ve missed a lot of UConn games this season just because of the hassle of moving apartments and work and the time difference and okay, I’ll think of better excuses later.

Spartak is all sorts of imploding lately. What the heck. Let’s see if they get better once Sue gets to Russia after the holidays.

Everything’s so blurry
and everyone’s so fake
and everybody’s empty
and everything is so messed up
pre-occupied without you
I cannot live at all
My whole world surrounds you
I stumble then I crawl

That’s supposed to be my Christmas Tree — I know, black and blue, how festive — but it’s all blurred because, duh, BOKEH, and the blurring is supposed to be all profound and shite. But whatever, I guess I just have to accept that this year’s Christmas is just going to be one of the suckiest ever. After all, it’s just a day. They don’t even celebrate it here in this part of the universe.

You see, I can be myself now finally,
In fact there’s nothing I can’t be
I want the world to see you be with me

Blame Glee for this. The Warblers were amazing. They should have won over ND. Wasn’t bowled over by TTOML and Valerie kept reminding me that Winehouse’s version is way better. Brittany and Mike Chang’s moves, however, were awesome.

These days when you ask people what’s in their phone, the answers are not anymore restricted to phone numbers and phone camera snapshots or even that blasted Snake game in the really old Nokia models (man, those were the days). Phones are rather smart these days; they’re even smarter than some people I know *cough*Kilcher*cough*. They contain apps and what-have-you’s to keep their user entertained/distracted/dazed/glued-to-the-little-screen when he or she is in the middle of an hour-long commute everyday, or when he or she doesn’t have anything better to do than just laze around and be bored, or whenever else, really.
Anyway, so because I am bored and it seems like sleep isn’t showing itself anytime soon, I’ll just list up whatever’s inside my phone.
(Bear in mind that it’s just an iPhone 3G — I’ve been debating with myself whether to finally kick it to the curb and go get myself the iPhone 4 but well, until they fix that antenna issue, I guess I’ll have to make do with my trusty old 3G — and some newer applications that I still haven’t heard of won’t even run in this version but eh … whatever.)
Anyway, without further ado, Birdy says howdy from my locked screen wallpaper:

Sick and tired of taking the mellow
beating of the stupid games we play.
We run around but I’m done needing this hurt
I’ve stayed too long but I’m taking you with me
You’re too beautiful to be seen here

Nagtatanong
Bakit mahirap
Sumabay sa agos
Ng iyong mundo
Nagtataka
Simple lang naman sana
Ang buhay
Kung ika’y matino
Sabihin sa akin lahat ng lihim mo
Iingatan ko
Ibaling sa akin ang problema mo
Kakayanin ko

Pikit mata
Kong iaalay
Ang buwan at araw
Pati pa sapatos kong suot
Nagtatanong
Simple lang naman sana
Ang buhay
Kung ika’y lumayo

Ang buong mundo

It was the start of November and autumn looked like it was in full swing. Everywhere I looked I was attacked with this unexplainable melancholy that I wasn’t really sure I should be feeling. It wasn’t depressing melancholy though EI wouldn’t dishonor all the proper emos in this world to pretend I was sad when in reality I wasn’t. I guessed it was probably just the feelings evoked in me by the crunchy dried up leaves and the smell of the woods as they prepared themselves for their yearly death, yearly death meaning winter. I had a lot to say about winter, too, but I shoved that to the back of my mind for the meantime. It was the middle of autumn, for Chrissakes, and I was going to savor every waking hour of that season before I let myself feel the dread for winter.

2,000 colleges. 8 million roommates. Which one will you get?

I’m not really hot on thriller flicks or whatever but this has Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly and that chick from Hellcats (whose name escapes me right now but whatever) so I dunno maybe I’ll give it a shot when it comes out. That and probably deal with the resulting paranoia brought on by watching the movie.

Speaking of thriller/psycho/horror flicks, I found the following fake horror trailers for one of my guilty pleasures, Glee.
Glee: Theatrical Trailer (Horror Movie)
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt81YVNxhxo
Jesse St. James transfers to WMHS to follow Rachel, a girl he’s heard about and fallen in love with. They begin dating, but the other Glee clubbers are suspicious because he has a tattoo of a latin phrase, which, in English, reads “Murder or be murdered.” Shortly after his arrival, students begin disappearing, and Will Schuester fears the worst and suspects their new student. Now Rachel must decide whether to believe her old friends or her new love before it’s too late.

I tried to find Kurt’s Going To Kill Us All but apparently it’s not on youtube anymore.

Some people think that they’ll never move away
until they do and then they’re not there anymore.
Some people always think they’ll stay just the same
until they don’t and then they’re not anymore.
