\nyet my feet dragged me to it.
\ni walked straight though aimlessly
\nbeckoned by the strangeness,
\nfueled by my melancholy.<\/p>\n
i remember it as if it was yesterday
\nmy heart leapt out against my wishes
\nmy head floated through the clouds
\nmy resolve unwillingly unraveled
\nwhen i first felt this way.<\/p>\n
my defenses completely gave way
\none by one systematically disintegrated.
\nreason couldn’t find what the cause
\nuntil upon me was a flush beet red
\nyou must’ve caused the blood to rush to my head.<\/p>\n
though it was the biggest singular fear
\nwhat has been sworn not to do nor feel,
\nthe heart ignored the conniving mind
\nand the heart claimed to be sovereign…<\/p>\n
the once cold, unfeeling heart
\nbursting with emotions long ago unimaginable
\nclaiming to know all the answers
\nerasing even the most formidable fears.<\/p>\n
hence i let my feet drag me to it
\nfacing the unknown with my head up high,
\nmy eyes looking straight ahead
\nto what seemed like an ominous path.<\/p>\n
cracking through the thick shells
\nprotective defenses notwithstanding
\nletting the warmth of uncertainty washing through
\nfinally letting myself feel alive
