She tried to feel, tried to give it all.
\nBut in the end it’s still wanting,
\nin the end something’s still missing.<\/p>\n
So she tried to brace herself
\nfor the impending fall,
\nnot really knowing how painful,
\nno, not at all.<\/p>\n
She tried to reason, tried to understand,
\nwhen did things get so out of hand?
\nShould’ve seen it coming, it was written in stone.
\nBut was it folly to expect she wouldn’t end up alone?<\/p>\n
Now she’s lost, fumbling with most
\nthings that should be easy
\nwhen hell they are not,
\nno, not really.<\/p>\n
But she’s got to pull away somehow,
\ngot to let go of things somehow.<\/p>\n
Because the world is still turning,
\nand life is too short not to go on living.<\/p>\n
And so she gets up and dusts her pants,
\nnot quite ready to look the world
\nin the eye just yet but not shirking either.<\/p>\n
Because life has it’s ups and downs,
\nand yes she knows how clich\u00e9d that sounds.
\nShe knows she might fall flat on her face again,
\nbut she’s not so afraid of that anymore.<\/p>\n
At least now she knows that out
\nthere is so much more.<\/p>\n
