A race condition<\/strong> or race hazard<\/a><\/strong> is a flaw in a system<\/a> or process whereby the output<\/strong> and\/or result of the process<\/strong> is unexpectedly <\/strong>and<\/span> critically dependent<\/strong> <\/span>on the sequence<\/strong><\/span> or timing<\/a><\/strong><\/span> of other events<\/strong><\/span><\/span>. The term originates with the idea of two signals<\/a> racing each other to influence the output<\/a> first<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

So is there a flaw in the system caused by a race condition? Is there a major critical bug that rightfully deserves all the attention that it craves?<\/p>\n
